Burlington JIF 2010 Regional Training Plan.doc
Topic: Safety Coordinator’s Round Table
Date: February 4, 2010
Location: Bradford Estate, Hainesport
The 2010 Round Table meeting will be held immediately following the Annual Safety Kick-Off Breakfast. This program has been an effective means to foster communication among Safety Coordinators and the Safety Director's office. We will roll out the 2010 Safety Campaign, “Stop and Think to Avoid Back Injuries,” and distribute the new DVD. We will also discuss the 2010 loss control service plan and the Safety Incentive Program.
Topic: PPE Hazard Assessments
Date: April 2010 at four locations within BURLCO JIF
Location: TBD
Not having written PPE Hazard Assessments is one of the most frequently cited violations by PEOSHA. During this practical “hands on” training session we will work in small groups to write and publish PPE Hazard Assessments for some of the most common tasks done by municipal workers. The finished Hazard Assessments will be posted on the website so you can print out copies to complete your records. Four PPE Hazard Assessment sessions will be set up throughout the JIF territory to minimize travel and make the most of your training hours. All locations and topics will be announced in advance, but members only need attend one session. The target audience for this session will be supervisors and Safety Coordinators.
Topic: Public Work’s Superintendents’ Round Table
Date: June 15, 2010
Location: Hainesport Community Center
The purpose of the Round Table is to get DPW Superintendents more involved in safety programs, and to bring new topics to their attention. We will use this opportunity as an information and idea exchange among Superintendents.
Location: Police Chief’s Round Table
Date: September TBD, 2010
Location: Anthony “Tony” Canale Training Academy & Burlington Emergency Training Center, Westampton
Recognizing the huge impact that law enforcement activities have on municipal safety program results, we will again provide this opportunity for the Chiefs of Police to discuss ways to integrate the JIF safety program into Police Department operations. We will develop a meaningful agenda based on suggestions and in-put from the Police Ad Hoc Committee.
